“– just be quiet.” his head was ringing – there was some alcohol in his system and he wasn’t thinking straight. everything seemed to be coming back to him and he needed to get away. but he couldn’t be ALONE. not right now. he pressed down on the gas pedal and zoomed down the street, taking a hard right at the next turn. and then they drove for a while longer. when they came to a rest area, he pulls into the parking lot and then finally brings the vehicle to an abrupt stop. he sits there in silence. the sounds of the night take over before he’s finally able to speak again. “– i need you to stay with me.”
It all accured strangely to her, mostly phrases but a few images of possible scenarios of what could happen next, if only he’d speed up just more, just had the alcohol which by that point she was fully aware of, kiciking in more – what if, and what if, and before she noticed the protests against his actions disappeared. Instead, she could barely hum, and having her worried gaze fixated at the road, she nearly reached her hand to his, perhaps to take control – yet it kept off holding tightly onto her seat, as if that would reassure that she was safe, as if.
She did not question. Of course he did not seem all completely right, and of course concern would have been a weak word to genuinely describe her mindset at that given moment, yet she stayed still. Her head later on, nodded, once. And it took her for about the longest moment possible to inquire carefully, for she hadn’t known what could pull the trigger for him and cause an outburst. “…” “What’s wrong?”
